Discover beautiful South Jutland
We have ancient history, beautiful nature and tasty food experiences. The area around Hotel Europa offers a wealth of experiences just waiting to be explored.
Danfoss Universe is a large experience park within technology and the environment. Other attractions include the Nolde Museum, Visitor Center 1864, Dybbøl Mill – where history meets life, Frøslev Camp, Bov Museum, the Ship Museum in Flensborg, Phänomenta and Glücksborg Castle by Flensborg Fjord.
Exhibitions at Sønderborg Castle should be experienced. There are also several other exciting castles in the area such as Schackenborg Castle and Gråsten Castle, where you can also experience the beautiful gardens and old church from the inside. Flensburg is only 20 km from the hotel and Hamburg about an hour and a half drive.

Aabenraa and surrounding area
In Aabenraa it is possible to visit Krusmølle, which is a modern lifestyle store in a hay loft of 320 sq m. They welcome you with decorations and interior design that reflect the season and current trends and at the same time offer several fun, practical, beautiful, nostalgic and useful products.
Interior and ecology are paramount, and if you are looking for a gift for someone you love, Krusmølle is worth a visit.

Aabenraa's old town has beautiful cobblestone streets, beautiful listed houses, idyllic forests and beaches.
It is also possible to visit the Maritime Museum, art exhibitions at the old train station and exciting art exhibitions at Brundlund Castle.
Sønderstrand and the marina have been recently renovated and offer a lovely walk just 1,000 meters from the hotel.
The fantastic South Jutland Wadden Sea National Park is only a half-hour drive from Aabenraa.
During the year, several different events and festivals are organized in Aabenraa.

The heart of South Jutland
Hotel Europa is located in the heart of Southern Jutland, only 20 km from the Danish/German border.
Surrounding the hotel are large forest areas, which are suitable for a jog or a relaxing hike. If you would rather enjoy bowling, skittles, billiards, squash, tennis, swimming or general fitness, there are several options within a radius of 3 km from the hotel.
In Southern Jutland the people are very friendly. We hold on to our culture and old traditions. City events are especially important to us and guests are of course always welcome.
The big event of the summer is Ringridning, where up to 500 horses parade through the city together with various orchestras from all over Europe. They all end up at the large ringriding square, where in the following days young and old compete to become the ringriding king of the year.
Tilting at the Ring
The Ringriderfest is always held the first weekend in July and is definitely worth a visit. This particular week, people from all over the north visit the city and also gives you the opportunity to visit the large traveling fair or hear concerts with various music names, local and national.
In Aabenraa we are also proud of the old town which is very well known for its beautiful houses, beautifully decorated doors and the small pretty streets with cobblestones. Furthermore, Aabenraa offers Denmark's longest and most beautiful pedestrian street, which is located less than 100 meters from the hotel.
There is also a newly renovated beach with good bathing facilities, a bridge and a marina about 1 km from the hotel.
If you want to enjoy a nice day with the whole family, we highly recommend visiting Universe or Jump A Lot, which are South Jutland's attraction parks.
